NMG 001 Nata
Ã
The hatchet is an ancient Japanese tool that has evolved to meet the needs of people working in the mountains and forests.
Learning from the long tradition of the hatchet, Nicetime and designer Wataru Kumano, who is active in Japan and abroad, worked together for two years to develop a hatchet that is optimized for modern outdoor life.
The NMG 001 Nata has a full tang structure that can withstand hard use such as batoning. While calculating the weight balance with the tip of the blade, we focused on ease of handling and swinging down by making the inside of the grip lightweight.
The double-edged blade is made of 6mm thick stainless steel with a gentle 4.7-degree angle to the cutting edge, designed to always hit the wood at the optimal angle. The blasting process also greatly reduces corrosion.
The grip is made of silicon rubber for comfort and shock absorption when chopping wood. When the grip is worn out by use, it can be replaced with a new one.
The minimalist form shaped by the pursuit of function gives off a pure charm as a tool.
