The material used is a vertically cut Japanese zelkova (Zelkova serrata). The advantage of vertical wood cutting is that distortion is difficult to occur.
The scale on the inside can be used to measure 1 cup of rice (180ml) at the bottom, water needed to cook 1 cup of rice (215ml) in the middle, and water needed to cook 1 cup of rinse-free rice (235ml) at the top.
The curve on the lip is inspired by a mountain ridge, and the fun of finding your favorite mountain. You can drink from the usual place or from a different place once in a while, depending on your mood.
